Heatron's optically clear polyester heaters are used not only to prevent condensation and ice build-up on a camera lens, they can also be found in the worlds' leading global security equipment manufacturer's devices used for chemical detection.

The process is simple but the design is much more complex. Heatron's Clearview heaters are used by Customs agents and other law enforcement to help detect drug particles in the air. In a detection device, a liquid containing the substance of interest is placed on a flexible Teflon® surface and allowed to dry, and the heater accelerates drying time. Then, the Teflon® RTM surface is rubbed onto an item to be tested for the presence of the substance of interest. These particles are then transferred to the detector for analysis. The key for operation of this device is the speed with which our heater is able to heat up then instantly cool down the air/liquid for detection and analysis.
