Robert H. Martter | President and CEO
Mr. Martter assumed the responsibilities of President and CEO effective January 1, 2018. He joined Heatron as the Vice President of Erie Operations in 2002 with the acquisition of ECA Electronics (Erie, PA) by Heatron. He was the Executive VP and General Manager of ECA Electronics for 15 years prior to the acquisition and was in charge of all aspects of the operation. ECA Electronics was a subsidiary of American Trim LLC (1993-2002) and previously (1982-1993) a subsidiary of Ferro Corporation.
Prior to that, Mr. Martter served for three years as Product Manager, Pigments with Ferro Corporation in Cleveland OH. Mr. Martter started his career with DuPont and served in Project Engineering, Production Management and Sales positions over eight years with that company.
Mr. Martter has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron, Akron OH and a Master's in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College, Berea OH and has benefitted from numerous training programs provided by DuPont, Ferro Corp, American Trim and Heatron. Mr. Martter has contributed to and is listed as an inventor on several patents, mostly in the field of thick film electronics technology.
Laurie M. Boyd | Vice President | Finance & HR
Ms. Boyd joined Heatron in 2002 and is responsible for overseeing all accounting for the Company, including financial statement preparation and analysis, budgeting, fixed assets, human resources and payroll.
Prior to joining Heatron, Ms. Boyd was the Accounting and Inventory Control Manager for Amarr Garage Doors in Lawrence, Kansas. Previous to that, she was the Accounting Manager for Werner Pipe Service, Inc. in Independence, KS. Ms. Boyd holds a BGS from Pittsburg State University.
Craig Schmidling | Vice President | Engineering • Quality
Mr Schmidling assumed the role of VP of the Engineering & Quality in 2020. In this capacity, As VP, Mr. Schmidling has reduced the occurrence of quality events by over 50% and is responsible for custom heaters in high profile, high technology applications such as aircraft heating, high end consumer electronics and more.
Previously, Mr. Schmidling has served in various roles including Project Engineer, Product Designer, Design Manager, Quality Manager and Engineering Manager for Heatron over the course of 25 years.
Mr. Schmidling has a B.S in Engineering from Kansas State University.
Kerry Thackeray | Director | Leavenworth Operations
Kerry joined Heatron in 2014 as the Director of Operations responsible for all aspects of manufacturing for the two facilities in Leavenworth Kansas.
Kerry is a graduate of Brigham Young University and has worked as an engineer for Boeing Advanced Systems in Seattle Washington, and in leadership roles for such companies as RSI Home Products in North Carolina and with Continental Disc Corporation, Alfa Laval Agri and Advanced Technologies Inc. in the Kansas City area.
His experience spans over 30 years in many areas of manufacturing including Semi-conductor, Furniture Manufacturing, Aerospace, Medical and Health Care, Automotive, and Agriculture.
Brian K. Coates | Director | Sales • Marketing • IT
Mr. Coates assumed the role of Sales Director at the beginning of 2020. Prior to that, he was the Marketing and IT Director. During this time, Mr. Coates has been responsible in creating lead generation, increasing security while implementing both an ERP upgrade and website migration.
Mr. Coates joined Heatron in 2011 as an application engineer in the LED products business unit and has a proven track record of setting an meeting performance goals. Mr. Coates came from a division of ITW specializing in custom electronics where he started as a CAD Designer working his way to Technical Marketing Manager and Application Engineer. Mr. Coates has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from Northern Illinois University.
